CSBA Policy on Cyberbullying Cyberbullying_CSBAPolicy.pdf

CBSA has issued a new policy brief, Cyberbullying: Policy Considerations for Boards, which provides background information on the extent of the problem and its impact on students, discusses the legal issues and suggests issues that boards might wish to address in policy on this topic and provides additional resources that help districts gain a greater understanding of cyberbullying.

Project Interconnect: Acceptable Use Policy - Printable Consent Forms (pdf)

These various printable pdf forms are easy to understand and cover the unacceptable uses and penalties for misuse. They state that students will be held accountable for violations of the Acceptable Use Policy and that disciplinary action may be taken.

The August 16th issue of EduHound Weekly contains links to many other examples of acceptable use plans.

State of Virginia Laws on Cybersafety Education

The State of Virginia is  ahead of us with enforcing a law on Cybersafety Education but their wording sounds very similar to the Chavez Bill.   Check out where they have taken this.

I particularly like their rubric for Internet Safety Guidelines at:  http://www.doe.virginia.gov/VDOE/Technology/OET/internet-safety-guidelines.shtml

They also have powerpoint downloads, lesson plans and examples for K-12 Integration.   - A.B.
